Pineapple is the second most popular tropical fruit, native to South America particularly in Brazil and Paraguay. Pineapple is also known as Piña, Nanas and Ananas.
The name pineapple in English comes from the similarity of the fruit to a pine cone.
In India North East region gives us the largest production of this juicy sweet acidic fruit of Kew variety and the Queen Variety.
